Implications of Multiple Corona Bursts in Lightning Processes for Radio Frequency Interferometer Observations

چکیده
Recent observations from LOFAR indicate that multiple, spatially distributed corona bursts can occur in lightning processes with a timescale of 10 microseconds. The close proximity the space and time poses great observation challenge for short-baseline (typically ≤100 m) radio interferometers. This paper reports simulations to show interferometry results would be obtained such an interferometer. In particular, spatially-separated at fixed locations may seen as fast (>107 m/s) propagating source large power variation if resolution instrument is greater than spatial separation bursts. implications suggestions studies are discussed paper.

Low frequency radio observations of bi-directional electron beams in the solar corona
The radio signature of a shock travelling through the solar corona is known as a type II solar radio burst. In rare cases these bursts can exhibit a fine structure known as “herringbones”, which are a direct indicator of particle acceleration occurring at the shock front. However, few studies have been performed on herringbones and the details of the underlying particle acceleration processes a...
متن کاملInterferometer observations of molecular gas in radio galaxies
We present the first results of a high-resolution study of the distribution and kinematics of molecular gas in two nearby radio galaxies, 4C 31.04 and 3C 293, representative of two different stages of evolution in radio-loud active galactic nuclei (AGN). These observations, conducted with the IRAM Plateau de Bure Interferometer (PdBI), map with unprecedented spatial resolution (∼0.5 ′′ –1 ′′) a...
متن کاملMontblanc: GPU accelerated Radio Interferometer Measurement Equations in support of Bayesian Inference for Radio Observations
We present Montblanc, a GPU implementation of the Radio interferometer measurement equation (RIME) in support of the Bayesian inference for radio observations (BIRO) technique. BIRO uses Bayesian inference to select sky models that best match the visibilities observed by a radio interferometer. To accomplish this, BIRO evaluates the RIME multiple times, varying sky model parameters to produce m...
متن کاملReconciling Extreme-ultraviolet and Radio Observations of the Sunïs Corona
The SunÏs corona, which is composed of plasma at a temperature of a few millions of degrees, can be best viewed in two electromagnetic domains, one from wavelengths of a few angstroms to hundreds of angstroms (in the soft X-ray and EUV domain), the other from wavelengths of a few centimeters to several tens of centimeters (in the radio domain). In this paper, we present a quantitative compariso...
